World Braille Day at Sakalya

Today at 04 Jan 2023, Sakalya Prep celebrated World Braille Day in a meaningful way. The day was all about inclusion and diversity. It's important that children are aware of other's differences, and gain an awareness of varying needs and requirements.

We celebrate World Braille Day here in our holistic preschool, to help children to think about important questions relating to additional needs, and expands their knowledge of others in our society. It can be difficult for children to empathise with those who are different. However, by introducing simple activities that show them first-hand what it's like to live without sight, we can develop their ability to support others. The teacher created braille worksheet from number 1-5 and helped children to understand Braille. Here’s sneak peek into the Braille Day activities organised for our K 1 and K2 children.
