Every year, World Paper Bag Day is celebrated to create awareness about the importance of eco-friendly choices and the need to reduce the use of plastic bags. This day reminds us that small steps taken by each one of us can bring a positive change and help protect our environment.


Plastic pollution is one of the biggest challenges faced by our planet today. Plastic bags take hundreds of years to break down and can cause harm to nature, animals, and our surroundings. Choosing alternatives like paper bags helps us move towards a cleaner and more sustainable lifestyle.


At Sakalya Wisdom Early Years, in the Seegehalli, Kannamangala, Kadugodi area of Whitefield, Bangalore near Prestige Park Grove we believe that environmental values should be introduced to children from an early age. Children learn best when they explore, create, and experience things themselves. Through hands-on activities, they understand important life lessons in a meaningful and joyful way.


On the occasion of World Paper Bag Day, our young learners participated in a creative and eco-friendly activity where they made their own paper bags using old newspapers. With their little hands and big imagination, children transformed newspapers into useful paper bags while learning about the importance of reusing materials and reducing waste.

This activity not only encouraged sustainability but also helped children develop their fine motor skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. As they folded, pasted, and decorated their paper bags, they discovered that everyday materials can be given a new purpose instead of being thrown away.


Activities like these help children understand that caring for the environment is everyone’s responsibility. When children learn to make eco-friendly choices at a young age, they naturally develop respect and love for nature.

World Paper Bag Day is more than just making paper bags; it is about building awareness, encouraging responsible habits, and inspiring future generations to make better choices for our planet.
